BUILT BY HAND

Before he was an author, David was a builder, cabinet maker, fabricator, trainer, and problem-solver. That background shapes the way Hollow Acre is written: houses have weight, wood has history, tools matter, and the smallest physical detail can carry a memory.

The stories are grounded in the Mississippi Delta because that is the landscape he knows best—not as scenery, but as lived-in ground.

Hollow Acre began with a simple idea: places remember.

Old houses, family stories, objects, habits, grief, laughter, and history all leave something behind. The Chronicles grew from that belief—mixing real Delta roots with fiction to explore what people inherit, what they carry, and what refuses to disappear.
